1)
Today, Dorothy received a
copy of the Spect Scan Report,
performed by California Pacific (SF) on Jan 25th. The report, showed an
abnormality that may have resulted from previous dental work. Further reading of the Spect Scan films
by Dr. Tufft will occur on Thurs, February 3rd. 2) Based upon Dorothy’s positive response to various antibiotics on 4 separate occasions: June 2nd, 2004 (Ancef); Jan 6th, 2005 (Moxifloxacin), Jan 10th, 2005 (Doxicycline, Flagil, Zithromiacin) and most recently Jan 23rd, 2005 (Keflex), Dorothy, Jim and Dorothy’s consulting physician believe that the recent ALS symptoms are being caused by neurotoxins, being released by an infection in Dorothy’s bone structure. Further clinical testing, analysis and diagnosis will occur within the coming weeks. 3) A supplement protocol has been developed to increase Dorothy’s recovery speed. Additional supplements will be added to the existing program, as the doctor advises. |

PO Party was great for mood. Seems to have reached a plateau in strength and agility increase. Only ATR f/chair 3X/day. By bedtime was very weak and worn down. |
Busy day. By noon today, the Keflex seemed to have reached max strength against the neurotoxins. By evening, she was worse. L/hand hurts due to holding walker. VERY tired and wants to sleep. |
Sat1/29 |

Daytime: GSH 1 ½ tsp 3xpd on empty stomach w/3 oz juice w/1 oz Goji juice; Keflex 4xpd; Acidophilus 100mg 1-3xpd not w/Keflex Bedtime: Ambien |
Continued improvement albeit less than 5%/day More flexibility in arms daily |

Bad morning. Minor improvement in PM. Balance deteriorated in evening. Ringing in R/ear increased. R/side head ache worse. R/shoulder and L/hand still hurts. Lack of Baclofen causing some spasticity in R/leg. |
Slow incremental increases (if anything at all!). Spirit remains high, but the waiting is driving Dorothy crazy! |
|
Opened Escrow on home purchase for the entire Middleton/Timewell/Santoro clan. Home is completely wheelchair accessible and will be perfect for Dorothy’s recovery. Home has 20’ X 40’ pool and an airplane hanger. Swimming is in Dorothy’s future, and flying may also be. |

juice Cognitive Factors – 1-2xpd
EPA/DHA 3-2xpd w/meal
Bedtime: Ambien |
Able to perform small walking tasks better everyday. Mornings are still not good, but the burst of energy in the late afternoon makes up for it. |
Changes in the supplement protocol gives Dorothy hope. Looking forward to Thur appt. Find the source of the neurotoxins!!! |
Wed2/2 |
1500 met w/surveyor at Property
Walked to Hanger Door w/walker |
Daytime: GSH 1 ½ tsp 3xpd on empty stomach w/juice Keflex 4xpd Acidophilus 100mg 1-3xpd not w/Keflex Cognitive Factors 1-3 xpd EPA/DHA 3-2 xpd Bedtime: Ambien |
Slowly getting more strength, but still UTR (unable to rise) from sitting position regularly. Emotional strength is waning. |
Bad morning - Mornings and evening have been less than acceptable lately, but mid-day outings make her happy. |
|
Dorothy is very anxious about tomorrow’s appt w/Dr. Tufft. She is praying that the infection in her jaw is what is causing the ALS symptoms, and that an end to her debilitating condition is in sight. |
||||
Thur2/3 |
1130 Dr Tufft Spect Scan Reading
Oakland 1830 Laura Visits Dorothy |
Daytime: GSH 1 ½ tsp 3xpd on empty stomach w/juice Keflex 4XPD Acidophilus 100mg 1-3xpd not w/Keflex Cognitive Factors 1-3xpd EPA/DHA 3-2xpd Bedtime: |
Again, a small incremental improvement in strength. Laura and our doctor gave Dorothy strength to continue on course. |
After hearing a dissertation from Tufft, Dorothy was less than enthusiastic and lost confidence. Kind of like getting slugged in the gut. Consulting doctor made suggestions for course changes. |
|
Note: Expectation of the Appt w/Dr. Tufft was higher than it should have been. Once again, we are dealing with the Medical establishment that refuses to believe that neurotoxins can cause the symptoms as presented. An appt w/a Dental Surgeon was made after being recommended by Dr. Tufft. Dr. Swan’s next appt is mid April. We refuse to wait that long. We now need to find a Dentist that has experience with cavitations and/or toxic root canals. |
||||
|
Fri 2/4 |
Limited activity in AM. Drove her motorized 3-wheeler scooter for
the 1st time. |

No more energy than yesterday. Spirits were better, probably due to Laura’s visit last night. Very stiff legs. |
Added Baclofen back into the mix due to on-going spasticity and rigidity in her legs after sitting. |
|
Sat 2/5 |
Very little activity all day –
Washed dishes in PM Cooked dinner w/help only lifting to/from oven. |

Small incremental increases continue. Still UTR (unable to rise) out of bed or chair 100% of the time. |
Ambien precluded Dorothy’s ability to get up middle of the
night. No more Ambien! PM Able to cook a dinner – YEAH!! Still VERY limited physical strength. Looking forward to move to Sunlit Lane. |

Noticeable increased strength. ATR from chair w/o walker 2 times in a row |
Change possibly due to increased antibiotics. |
|
Dorothy’s Consulting Doctor is researching dentists able and willing to perform biopsy, removal and treatment of Dorothy’s jawbone cavitations. Amazingly, there are very few dental surgeons who have the equipment, expertise and experience in this procedure. |
||||
|
Tues 2/8 |

Dorothy has an appointment w/a DDS in Santa Rosa, next Thursday, February 17th. Dental surgery should begin shortly after the cavitation is confirmed. Antibiotics (Keflex) will be kept at the current dose, until the bone infection is removed. After removal, IV antibiotics may be used to assist w/recovery. Property escrow is now scheduled to close February 25th. The move-in is tentatively set for the following day. |

Elimination of Keflex to avoid proper reading of dental metals and cavitations. |
|
Lyme results indicate the presence of Burgdorferi, the cause of Lyme Disease. Dorothy will be receiving treatment for Lyme within the context of her entire treatment. Clinical indicators require the proper diagnosis of the infection in Dorothy’s upper left jaw by Dr. Landerman tomorrow. Treatment for the possible cavitation will be sought, in addition to removal of dental metals. |

Performed Cavitat™ imaging. Reading of scan indicates extensive cavitations in the upper jaw and significant infection on both sides of the bottom jaw. As a result, all upper teeth and many bottom teeth will be removed over the next 4-6 weeks. Removal of all dental metal remains a high priority, based on Dorothy’s overall health. Scheduled removal of all dental metal on Saturday. |

Dorothy & I would like nothing better than to save her teeth. However, all of her teeth had extensive metal fillings and, as indicated by the Cavitat™ scan, caused some major cavitations in her upper and lower jaw. To eliminate the extensive cavitations, we will only be able to save only the bottom front four teeth. |

We are looking forward to completing the removal of the cavitations tomorrow. Within the next few days, Dorothy will be on antibiotics. First she will be taking oral Keflex (same dosage as taken 01/22/05 – 02/19/05). The results of this antibiotic, along with a recent Lyme Test, which will help identify the exact Lyme that she has, will determine the next step, which will most likely heavy doses of antibiotics via IV or injection. |

Overall weakening over the last week, but the prospect of Oral then IV antibiotics to treat the Lyme within the next few DAYS is encouraging. |
